Brzezinski, Zbigniew
Brzezinski, Zbigniew (Kasimierz)
(1928– ) political scientist, government official; born in Warsaw, Poland. He moved to Canada (1938), studied at McGill University and Harvard, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1958. He taught at Harvard (1953–60) and Columbia University (1969–77). He was director of the Trilateral Commission (1973–76) and national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter (1977–81). He wrote Political Power: USA/USSR (1964).
