Bucherer reaction
[′bük·ər·ər rē′ak·shən] (organic chemistry)
A method of preparation of polynuclear primary aromatic amines; for example, α-naphthylamine is obtained by heating β-naphthol in an autoclave with a solution of ammonia and ammonium sulfite.
