Buffalo Bill State Park
Location:6 miles west of Cody, on US Highway 14-16-20.
Facilities:Tent and trailer campsites, restrooms, day-use lodge, picnic area and shelters, trails, boat ramp, boat dock, dam, ballfields, playground, visitor center (é).
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, windsurfing, hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing.
Special Features:Majestic mountains dominate the scenery of Wyoming's northernmost park, which serves as a gateway to Yellowstone National Park (see separate entry in the national parks section). Park was named for Colonel William "Buffalo Bill" Cody, who owned much of this land before the reservoir was constructed.
