Born Aug. 16, 1875, in the village of Maszkienice, powiat (district) of Brzesko; died Mar. 21, 1953, in Kraków. Polish historian and economist.
Bujak was professor of the Jagielonian University in 1909-18 and after 1946, of the University of Warsaw in 1919-21, and of the University of L’vov in 1921-39. Bujak was a founder of the school of Polish historical economists and editor of the Yearbook of Social and Economic History (vol. 1-14, 1931-53). He belonged to the right wing of the Stronnictwo Ludowe (Piast and Wyzwolenie Peasant Parties), which expressed the interests of the rural bourgeoisie.
