Emerging problems of Tospoviruses (

RVF is caused by the mosquito-borne phlebovirus, also belonging to the family
Bunyaviridae. The virus is widely distributed in Africa, including SA, but has also been reported from Saudi Arabia (after its introduction in 2000) and Madagascar.
There are an extensive number of arboviruses in the trisegmented ss-RNA
Bunyaviridae family, many of which only occur rarely.
The mosquitoes showed a wide-spectrum susceptibility to arboviruses which included members of the family Togaviridae, Flaviviridae, Rhabdoviridae and
Bunyaviridae. The natural isolations of JEV, RRV, GETV and Tembusu virus has already been documented earlier suggesting their susceptibility to these viruses.

Members of the virus genera Hantavirus (family
Bunyaviridae) and Arenavirus (family Arenaviridae) are rodent-borne viruses with cosmopolitan distributions, primarily associated with the rodent families Cricetidae (New World) and Muridae (Old World).
GANV belongs to the genus Nairovirus of the family
