Caldwell catalog

A catalog of star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies for the use of amateur observers, whose objects are easy to locate with a small telescope but are not included in Messier's Catalog.

Caldwell Catalogue, it can be spotted in binoculars.
The
Caldwell catalogue did not exist at this time but, as he has in so many other ways, Sir Patrick identified the need and satisfied it.
They include his detailed observations and sketches, made with only a short-focus 4-inch refractor, of the 219 objects in the Messier and
Caldwell catalogues and another 109 selections of his own that those two catalogs miss.
