Location:10 miles southwest of Grand Marais, just off Highway 61 at mile post 101.
Facilities:40 drive-in campsites, showers, flush toilets, 5 backpack campsites, 2 group camps, picnic area, enclosed picnic shelter, hiking trails (18 miles), ski trails (17 miles), snowmobile trails (2 miles), warming house.
Activities:Camping, fishing (lake, river, and stream), hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling.
Special Features:The Cascade River drops 900 feet in its last three miles to Lake Superior. Visitors standing on a footbridge that spans the river, or at any of the viewing spots above the river, can feel the vibration of the rushing torrent of water as it cascades down the canyon.
