Established: Authorized on June 30, 1966; established on February 4, 1974.
Location:In south-central El Paso, Texas, just north of the Rio Grande and adjacent to the international boundary. Access is via San Marcial Street or Delta Drive.
Facilities:Picnic area, rest rooms (é), visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail.
Activities:Guided tour.
Special Features:The peaceful settlement of a 99-year boundary dispute between the United States and Mexico is memorialized here. The Chamizal Treaty, ending the dispute, was signed in 1963. An amphitheater and 500-seat auditorium are used by the theatrical groups from both sides.
