Chatyrdag

 

(also Shater-gora), a plateau-like massif in the Glavnyi (southern) Ridge of the Crimean Mountains, northwest of the city of Alushta. Chatyrdag, which rises to a maximum elevation of 1,527 m, is composed of limestones and has karst landscapes. The slopes are covered with forests of beech, hornbeam, and pine.
