Chorispora

a genus of plants of the family Cruciferae. The plants are annual or perennial pubescent herbs with entire or pinnatipartite alternate leaves. The yellow, lilac, or purple flowers are in racemes; the fruit is a segmented pod with a long beak. There are ten to 12 species, distributed in Europe, Western Asia, Middle Asia, Central Asia, and North Africa. The USSR has eight species, growing in the mountains of Middle Asia; a few species occur in the southern European USSR, the Caucasus, and Siberia. C. tenella grows in steppe and semidesert areas and along slopes in mountain regions; it also occurs as a weed in pastures and wastelands, amid plantings, and near roads and dwellings. The plant is pasturage for camels and sheep.
