Christ-Janer, Victor
(1916–2008)Christ-Janer worked alongside the group of architects associated with the Harvard Graduate School of Design known as the “Harvard Five”—Phillip Johnson, Marcel Breuer, Landis Gores, John Johansen, and Eliot Noyes—to change the landscape of colonial New Canaan, CT. Christ-Janer’s work included his own home, a market, stables, and a post office in the town, as well as many regional religious buildings. His work is described as sleek, preferring concrete and glass as materials and strong horizontal forms. He also worked on college campuses.
