Chryssa, b.
Chryssa (b. Varda Chryssa)
(1933– ) sculptor; born in Athens, Greece. She studied in Paris (1953–54), attended the California School of the Arts (1954–55), and settled in New York City (1955). She is known for her abstract letter form sculptures, such as Cycladic Books (1955), her neon-light tubing, as in Five Variations on the Ampersand (1966), and her mixed media work, Gates of Times Square (1964–66).
