Chung, Connie
Chung, (Constance Yu-hwa) Connie
(1946– ) television journalist; born in Washington, D.C. She began her career as a newswriter in 1969, becoming the highest paid local anchor in the nation at CBS's KNXT-TV in Los Angeles (1976–83). She then joined National Broadcasting Company News (1983–89) as a correspondent and anchor for various shows, including News at Sunrise. Returning to CBS in 1989, she anchored Face to Face with Connie Chung, an investigative news magazine (1990) and in 1993 became coanchor of the Evening News with Dan Rather.
