Ratio of the circuit noise at that point to some arbitrary amount of circuit noise chosen as a reference; usually expressed in decibels above reference noise, signifying the reading of a circuit noise meter, or in adjusted decibels, signifying circuit noise meter reading adjusted to represent interfering effect under specified conditions.
