Cirque Glacier
a mountain glacier lying in the bowl-shaped depression of a slope (cirque) which has been created or enlarged by the activity of snow and ice. The glacier tongue is short and terminates close to the snowline. At the mouth of the cirque the tongue is usually bordered by the ridge of the terminal moraine. The cirque glacier is one of the widely found types of mountain glaciers.
