Civic Prosecutor

 

in Soviet criminal procedure, a representative of a public organization (group of workers) who participates in a court hearing as a prosecutor on behalf of the organization. The civic prosecutor is an independent participant in the trial. To perform his duties he has been given broad procedural rights under the law.
