Coe, Michael D.

Coe, Michael D. (Douglas)

(1929–  ) anthropologist, educator; born in New York City. He earned a Harvard Ph.D. and joined the faculty at Yale (1960). Author of numerous studies on pre-Columbian Mexico and Central America, including the Atlas of Ancient America (1986), he was advisor to the Robert Woods Bliss Collection of Pre-Columbian Art at Dumbarton Oaks (1963–80).
