Location:Near southern end of Mackinac Bridge (Exit 339 off I-75) on the west side of Mackinaw City.
Facilities:Historic fort.
Activities:Interpretive programs.
Special Features:Colonial Michilimackinac is a reconstructed colonial fur-trading
village and military outpost of the 1700s, with 15 buildings
"inhabited" by a regiment of redcoats as well as traders and
colonial ladies who demonstrate cooking, sewing, and other
domestic arts of the time. The reconstruction is based on information
gathered during the nation's longest archaeological excavation.
