Command and Observation Post
a post from which a battalion (company) commander controls his subunit in combat. A command and observation post is located at a place where observation can be made of the enemy and where the actions of one’s own subunit and of neighbors can be observed. In a movement the battalion (company) commander controls his subunit from an armored personnel carrier (tank).
