[′käp·ər ‚vā·pər ‚lās·ər] (optics)
A high-power laser that emits intense pulses of very short duration (typically 30 nanoseconds) at a rate of 5000-50,000 pulses per second, at wavelengths of 510.5 nanometers (green) and 578.2 nanometers (yellow).
