Core M
A line of ultra-efficient CPU chips from Intel for laptops and tablets. Introduced in 2014, Core M machines were the first to use Intel's Broadwell microarchitecture for enhanced battery life.
Core Model Numbers
The first Core M chips were designated with "M-5Y" prefixes such as M-5Y10 and M-5Y71. Starting in 2016, new models began with m3, m5 and m7 to align with Intel's i3, i5 and i7 chips.
