CoreOS

A Linux operating system from CoreOS, Inc., San Francisco, www.coreos.com, that is used as the common kernel for Docker containers. Based on Chrome OS and introduced in 2013, CoreOS also supports server clusters by using utilities that treat the cluster as a single system. See OS virtualization, Tectonic and Docker.
