Coronel Oviedo

 

a city in southern Paraguay; administrative center of the department of Caaguazu. Population, 59,300 (1970). It is a highway junction and commercial center. The city has sawmilling and enterprises of the paper and food industries. Coronel Oviedo was founded in 1758.
