CUBIC quickly increases congestion window and reduces burst packet losses by adjusting congestion window based on
cubic function. Compound TCP uses not only packet loss but also delay information to increase congestion window.

cubic function is more desirable than the quadratic one besides its amenability to efficiency analysis.
