Cutler, Timothy
(1684–1765) Protestant clergyman; born in Charlestown, Mass. He graduated from Harvard at age 17 and was ordained a pastor in the Congregational Church of Stratford, Conn., in 1710. Appointed rector of Yale in 1719, he was forced to resign three years later when he converted to the Church of England. In 1723 he became rector of Christ Church, Boston, where he remained to the end of his life.
