D-9
(Digital-9) A standard definition (SD) digital videotape format from JVC that uses DV compression and VHS tape cassettes with metal particle (MP) tape. Formerly known as "Digital-S," D-9 provides high-quality digital video at a 4:2:2 sampling rate and uses two codecs to provide a 50 Mbps transfer rate. Some D-9 players also play S-VHS cassettes.
D-9 HD
Using twice as many recording heads, the HD version of D-9 provides 1280x720x60p, 1920x1080x60i and 1920x1080x24p resolutions at a bit rate of 100 Mbps.
