Dro

(Time), a daily Bolshevik newspaper that appeared in Georgian from Mar. 11 through Apr. 15, 1907, in Tbilisi. A total of 31 numbers were published. Its editor and publisher was I. Tsivtsivadze. The editorial board of the newspaper included J. V. Stalin, M. Tskhakaia, and M. Davitashvili. The newspaper devoted much attention to strengthening the ties of the party with the masses and to preparing them for revolutionary struggles. A number of articles by V. I. Lenin were published in the paper. Dro stood at the center of the struggle of the party organizations of Georgia and Transcaucasia for the convocation of the Fifth Party Congress and against the opportunistic position of the Mensheviks. The tsarist authorities shut down Dro after Number 31.
