Daly, Marcus

Daly, Marcus

(1841–1900) miner, businessman; born in Ireland. He came to the U.S.A. in 1856 and worked as a mining prospector. He worked the Anaconda, Mont., silver and copper mines and became a millionaire several times over. He was active in Montana Democratic politics.
