an outlying sea of the Indian Ocean, washing the Coast of Pravda in Antarctica (between 87° and 98° E long.). With depths ranging to 1,300 m, it is icebound year round. Its salinity measures 33.0-33.5 parts per thousand. The island of Drygalski is located in the sea. The Soviet Mirnyi Antarctic Station was built on the shore of Davis Sea in 1956.
