Special Features:Site interprets the life of wealthy French aristocrat, the Marquis de Mores, who arrived in North Dakota in 1883. The historic site comprises 3 parts: The Chateau de Mores is the 26-room house the Marquis built for his wife, which is now a museum containing may of its original elegant furnishings and personal effects; Chimney Park is the site of what was once his meat-packing plant, where all that remains is its brick chimney; and de Mores Memorial Park in downtown Medora features a statue of the Marquis.
