Delayed-action Blasting
the sequential explosion of charges of an explosive substance over specified intervals of time.
Delayed-action blasting is carried out by means of delayed-action electric detonators (with intervals ranging from a fraction of a second to several seconds) and electric safety-fuse igniters; in the latter case, the delay interval is regulated by shortening a section of the safety fuse in the assembly.
