Devers, Jacob

Devers, Jacob (Loucks)

(1887–1979) soldier; born in York, Pa. In charge of U.S. armored forces during a developmental period from 1941–43, he led combat troops in North Africa (1944) and served as commander of the 6th Army Group in southern France (1944–45).
