Dickenson, Mother Clare Joseph

(1755–1830) Catholic religious foundress; born in England. Emigrating to the U.S.A. with other Carmelite nuns in 1890, she helped found the first Carmelite convent in the U.S.A., near Port Tobacco, Md.
