differential galvanometer
[‚dif·ə′ren·chəl ‚gal·və′näm·əd·ər] (electricity)
A galvanometer having a magnetic needle which is free to rotate in the magnetic field produced by currents flowing in opposite directions through two separate identical coils, so that there is no deflection when the currents are equal.
