differential pulley

[‚dif·ə′ren·chəl ′pu̇l·ē]
(mechanical engineering)
A tackle in which an endless cable passes through a movable lower pulley, which carries the load, and two fixed coaxial upper pulleys having different diameters; yields a high mechanical advantage.
