Other privacy-centric browsers like
DuckDuckGo and Brave have taken even stricter steps to limit tracking.
The most popular one, perhaps, is
DuckDuckGo. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store any personal identifiable information, and discards IP addresses from it server logs.
Facebook, Instagram, Skyscanner and Google Shopping, Google Search, Seznam.cz, Yahoo!,
DuckDuckGo, Bing are also among the 7,000 online companies covered by the proposed rules.
Still, some were concerned about data collection and discussed how they might episodically switch to alternative search engines such as Ecosia or
DuckDuckGo. However, the general consensus was that those alternatives provided a less satisfying search experience than Google.
So does favoring a privacy-respecting search engine like
DuckDuckGo over Google.
These include
DuckDuckGo, Searx.me, GoodGopher, StartPage, and more.
Concerns about online privacy were also seen among children this summer - they were actively looking online for the search engine
DuckDuckGo, and inquiring about VPN.
Google argues that companies like Amazon and Facebook effectively compete with it in search by helping people find information, but its real competitors are dedicated search engines like
DuckDuckGo and Microsoft's Bing, which have relatively small market shares.
