Dust-Settling Chamber
The following article is from The Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1979). It might be outdated or ideologically biased.
Dust-Settling Chamber
a device used in industrial exhaust systems and gas-purification systems to allow gravitational settling of relatively coarse dust fractions—particle size greater than 30 microns—at a reduced velocity of air or gas. Depending on design, a distinction is made between uniflow settling chambers, labyrinth-type settling chambers with vertical partitions and shelf-type settling chambers.
