Dzhansugurov

 

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Aksu Raion, Taldy-Kurgan Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Located on the Aksu River (which discharges into Lake Balkhash), 95 km east of the Mulaly railroad station on the Aktogai-Alma-Ata line. Population, 14,000 (1970). The site of a sugar refinery, it was named in honor of the Kazakh poet I. Dzhansugurov.
