Dzharkurgan

 

a town and center of Dzharkurgan Raion, Surkhan-Darya Oblast, Uzbek SSR. Located on the right bank of the Surkhan-Darya River (tributary of the Amu Darya River), 1 km from the Dzharkurgan railroad station on the Termez-Dushanbe line. Population, 12,000 (1970). It has a cotton-ginning plant.
