Dzhuma

 

a city (since 1973); center of Pastdargomskii Raion, Samarkand Oblast, Uzbek SSR. Railroad station, 30 km northwest of Samarkand. Population, 8,000 (1970). Dzhuma has a cotton-cleaning plant and a people’s amateur theater.
