A European framing specification for the transmission of 16 multiplexed E1 data streams, resulting in a transmission rate of 34.368 Mb/s (= 34,368 kb/s).

A 34.368 Mbps point-to-point dedicated, digital circuit provided by the telephone companies in Europe. E3 lines carry four multiplexed E2 channels. See E1, E2 and DS.
