Location:East central Illinois, 4 miles southeast of Findlay on the west side of Lake Shelbyville.
Facilities:35 Class A campsites (with electricity, showers and other facilities), Class B/S campsites (with showers and vehicle access), Class D campsites (primitive), organized group camp area, 138-room resort, conference center, restaurant, lounge, swimming pool, picnic areas, 3 nature trails, backpacking trail (12 miles), cross-country ski trail (3 miles), boat ramp, 2 marinas.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, hunting, cross-country skiing.
Special Features:The Flood Control Act of 1958 authorized the Shelbyville Reservoir Project, which involved construction of a dam and creation of a lake. This natural resource management area includes both Eagle Creek State Recreation Area and Wolf Creek State Park (see separate entry), which face each other across Lake Shelbyville.
