Web: www.byways.org/browse/byways/2455/ Description:Leaving the urban center of Grand Rapids, byway offers vistas of lowland meadows and lakes, then winds through mixed hardwoods and stands of conifers and aspens in the Chippewa National Forest. Within the byways corridor, visitors can enjoy popular recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.
Legth: 47 miles. Start/Endpoint: Byway begins at the intersection of US 2 and SR 38 in Grand Rapids and proceeds north on SR 38 through the Chippewa National Forest and the towns of Marcell and Bigfork, terminating in Effie, Minnesota. Time to Allow: 3 hours. Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (1996).
