Edward Z'Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park
Location:On the west shore of Lake Tahoe, 10 miles south of Tahoe City on Highway 89.
Facilities:Developed family campsites and group camps, restrooms (é), picnic
areas, swimming beach, trails (é), nature center, exhibits.
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, cross-country
skiing, snowshoeing, winter camping, guided tours, interpretive
programs.
Special Features:Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With
nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir,
aspen, and juniper. The park
also features Hellman-Ehrman Mansion, built in 1903 as a summer home for financier Isaias W. Hellman, which provides an
interesting view into the lifestyles of the wealthy on Lake Tahoe.
