Fears continue to grow over missing man from
Ellesmere PortVauxhall, a subsidiary of General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM), is planning to move production of the Astra from its
Ellesmere Port factory if Brexit makes it unprofitable, according to the chief executive of Vauxhall-owner, PSA.
The Russelsheim plant will manufacture Astra and it is planned that the second plant will be
Ellesmere Port.
Attempts have been made to lure more people to
Ellesmere Port, with a pay and display car park near the town's railway station offering four hours' parking for the rock-bottom price of 50p, rising to only [pounds sterling]1 for more than four hours.
From this week, adverts will be broadcast on Sky TV throughout the North West and North Wales to promote
Ellesmere Port as a town with outstanding prospects and a great place to live and work.
In a statement, Vauxhall said it was committed to Astra production at
Ellesmere Port and would conduct a 45-day consultation with workers.

Ellesmere Port & Neston, said it was more "devastating news" for workers in the area.
That has led to speculation the company could close one or two European factories - with the plants in
Ellesmere Port and Bochum, Germany, reported to be at risk.
A report in a German newspaper claimed that Magna had plans to cut 1,400 jobs at Luton and
Ellesmere Port, although it made clear that no final decision had been taken and that discussions were continuing.
Announcing the funding, Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt, said: "Vauxhall's decision to invest further in its
Ellesmere Port plant demonstrates that the UK remains a location of choice for the competitive manufacture of motor vehicles in Europe.
Because "zero error" build quality has long been a goal at
Ellesmere Port, there are control procedures at every point on the line.
