Engibarov, Leonid Georgievich

 

Born Mar, 15, 1935, in Moscow; died there July 25, 1972. Soviet circus artist, clown-pantomimist. People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR (1971).

In 1959, Engibarov graduated from the school of circus art in Moscow. He drew widely in his performances on pantomime, acrobatics, balancing, and juggling. He received first prize, the E. Bass Cup, in the 1964 European Clown Competition in Prague. Engibarov appeared in the motion picture The Way to the Arena (1963).
