Etesian winds, which are prevalent between April and October, arise because of the formation of a temperature depression above the hot lands of Southwest Asia. They are associated with clear weather, because the air masses that they bring from higher latitudes become heated over the warm Mediterranean Sea region and the relative humidity of the air in the masses decreases.
