Farafangana

a city in southeastern Madagascar, situated in Fianarantsoa Province. Population, 10,800 (1971). Farafangana, a port on the Indian Ocean, is linked with the city of Tamatave by the Canal des Pangalanes. It is the trade center of an agricultural region, producing coffee’and other subtropical crops.
