Fenno, John
Fenno, John
(1751–98) journalist; born in Boston, Mass. From 1789 he published and edited the pro-Federalist Gazette of the United States, backed by Alexander Hamilton; it was a vitriolic partisan paper, though perhaps less cutting, and less expert, than a rival paper edited by Philip Freneau.
