El Ferrol

 

(also El Ferrol del Caudillo), a city in Spain, in Galicia, in La Corun̄a Province. Port on the Atlantic Ocean. Population, 87,700 (1970). Ferrol has a shipbuilding industry and a food-processing industry (including the production of canned fish). Commercial fishing is also of economic importance.
